It’s always great when shooting with a relatively open brief like I’ve done for Swinburne University. This year I’ve been commissioned to shoot candid daily life photos around two of their Melbourne campuses. Below are some examples of how pictures have been used for the covers of their course handbooks.

Characters Book

Earlier this year, I was invited to be one of the photographic contributors to the Thames & Hudson published book ‘Characters: Cultural stories revealed through typography’ by Stephen Banham of Letterbox. The book presents extraordinary stories behind the signs seen around a city, in this case Melbourne. Having lived in Melbourne my whole life and being a collector of old signs, this was a dream job for me. I was lucky enough to shoot at some locations that are normally off limits to both photographers and the general public. These included inside the towers of the Manchester Unity and T&G buildings, and the derelict toilet block from the former Safari Park in Rockbank. The book is released nationally in early September. Street Photography Workshop

Along with my good friend and fellow in-public photographer David Gibson, we’ll be conducting a street photography workshop in London on the 2nd of July. OAO (One And Only) on show at CCP / City of Yarra Billboards

Following on from my OAO (One And Only) exhibition at Anna Pappas Gallery this year, two of the works are being blown up to billboard size and being exhibited at the CCP curated public exhibition space on the corner of Smith St and Otter St in Collingwood.
