Two of my photos, from an on-going body of work documenting daily life in the Northern Territory, have been published in the September issue of The Monthly. The photos have been printed alongside my good friend Anna Krien’s latest article “Booze Territory”. The Monthly is available in most newsagents and good bookstores.
Earlier this year, I was invited to be one of the photographic contributors to the Thames & Hudson published book ‘Characters: Cultural stories revealed through typography’ by Stephen Banham of Letterbox. The book presents extraordinary stories behind the signs seen around a city, in this case Melbourne. Having lived in Melbourne my whole life and being a collector of old signs, this was a dream job for me. I was lucky enough to shoot at some locations that are normally off limits to both photographers and the general public. These included inside the towers of the Manchester Unity and T&G buildings, and the derelict toilet block from the former Safari Park in Rockbank. The book is released nationally in early September. Below are my spreads from the book and a 2 minute youtube clip of me at work at a few of the locations. Follow the book on Facebook HERE
